🎅🏻RECIPE🎅🏻 ## The Arctic Creature Collection: Base Recipe This base method works for all four designs. Using high-quality melting wafers ensures a smooth, professional finish. ### Ingredients * **1 package Double Stuf Oreos** (sturdier for dipping) * **16 oz Milk or Dark Chocolate melting wafers** (for Penguin/Snowman bases) * **16 oz White Chocolate melting wafers** (for Polar Bear/Santa bases) * **Assorted Fondant or Royal Icing:** Red, black, orange, and green. * **Candy Decorations:** Mini marshmallows, edible glitter (sanding sugar), and small round sprinkles for eyes. ### Instructions 1. **Prep the Station:** Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. 2. **Melt the Chocolate:** Melt your chocolate wafers in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring in between until completely smooth. 3. **The Dip:** Use a fork or a specialized dipping tool to submerge each Oreo. Tap the side of the bowl to let excess chocolate drip off. 4. **The Set:** Place the dipped Oreos on the parchment paper. If you are adding "fur" texture (like on the polar bears), sprinkle your sanding sugar or coconut while the chocolate is still wet. Otherwise, let them dry completely (about 20 minutes) before decorating. ## Design & Decorating Details ### **1. The Santa Claus** * **Base:** Milk chocolate. * **Details:** Use red fondant for the hat and coat. Pipe white royal icing for the beard and hat trim using a small star tip to create a "puffy" texture. A tiny gold sprinkle or yellow icing makes the belt buckle. ### **2. The Snowman** * **Base:** Milk chocolate. * **Details:** Create a white fondant circle for the face. Use orange fondant shaped into a tiny cone for the carrot nose. Pipe little black dots for the "coal" mouth and eyes. Add earmuffs or scarves using colored icing or fondant strips. ### **3. The Penguin** * **Base:** Milk chocolate. * **Details:** Apply a white fondant "belly" shape (like a heart or oval). Use black icing for the eyes and orange icing for a small triangular beak. Add tiny earmuffs made of mini pom-pom sprinkles joined by a thin line of icing. ### **4. The Polar Bear** * **Base:** White chocolate. * **Details:** While the base is wet, dip the bottom half in white sanding sugar for a "snowy" fur effect. Use a small white candy melt or a dollop of thick icing for the muzzle, then add a black pearl sprinkle for the nose. Pipe small white rounds for ears. #christmas #baking #HolidayTreats #cookies #festivefood
